Bob Gould

Bob Gould, age 85 of Maysville, and formerly of Purcell, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Robert Harris Gould was born December 17, 1935 in Freeport, Maine, 1 of 10 children born to Albert Ernest Gould and Margaret Louise (Murray) Gould. He was raised in Standish and attended school there, graduating in 1954. After school, Bob moved to Florida and began working. He managed a restaurant, and worked some as a handyman, before starting his first business. Bob married Linda (Owens) Rillema, and they settled in Spring City, Tennessee. Throughout the years, they owned and operated various businesses. They run the Newport Resort for several years, until the oil bust in the early 1980's. By 1982, they had settled in Purcell where they opened Linda's Quick Stop. They expanded, adding stores in Lindsay and Moore, and operated them until retiring in 1998. Even in retirement, Bob stayed busy doing something. He enjoyed tending to his property, gardening and landscaping, and genuinely enjoyed nature. After Linda passed in 2017, Bob reconnected with longtime friend Sue Wheeler, and they moved to Maysville. They genuinely enjoyed each other, and when Bob's health began to fail, Sue cared for him daily. He was a good companion; father, grandfather, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed! He was preceded in death by: his wife, Linda Rillema; parents, Albert and Margaret and Gould and siblings, Eleanor, Evelyn, Adelaide, Irma, Albert Jr and Daphne. Bob is survived by: his companion, Sue Wheeler; Children, Mike Gould of Nebraska, Mark Gould, Myles Gould and Merrick Gould, all of Florida, Rhonda McPherson and husband Mike of Purcell, Theresa Baker and husband David of Purcell, Tina Smith and husband Jason of Purcell and Mark Rillema of Purcell; Sisters, Velma Gagne and husband Frank of New Hampshire, Ula Stover and husband Ralph of Standish, ME and Clara Muller of Clearwater, FL; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
