Bobbie Jean Fisher

Bobbie Fisher, age 81, of Wayne entered into Heaven’s gates on May 8, 2025. Bobbie Jean Taylor was born on June 11, 1943 in Atoka, Oklahoma, the 6th of 11 children born to Alva Herbert Taylor and Velma Elizabeth (Lowe) Taylor. She was primarily raised in Atoka, where she attended school up until the 9th grade. By chance, Bobbie caught the eye of a young man named, William Benjamin “Ben” Fisher. The two quickly fell in love and were married on December 1, 1969 in Durant. They made their home in Atoka and later moved to Byars in 1987, where together they raised three daughters, Carla, Rhonda, and Rebecca, and their son, Harvey. Not only did Bobbie love and cherish her own children, but she also was a babysitter for many other children throughout the community. She considered herself very fortunate and blessed to be able to stay home and care for her family in that capacity. She truly had a servant’s heart and a genuine passion for molding and shaping young children for their future. In her free time, Bobbie loved to travel anywhere and everywhere with her loving husband, Ben. He would say, “Pack your bags, pick a direction, let’s go”, and their adventure would begin! Bobbie also enjoyed going camping, reading, completing cross word puzzles, tending to her rose bushes, and anything relating to Elvis Presley! More than anything, Bobbie was a family woman; She truly cherished every moment spent with them, especially with her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader and number one supporter! Bobbie was very loving, loyal, strong, and nurturing in nature. She truly was a one-of-a-kind woman, who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her! She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ben Fisher; parents, Alva and Velma Taylor; siblings, Elene Houser, Junior Taylor, Maxine Hunter, Billy Joe Taylor, Wilma Lowe, Joyce Weldon, Lorene Dunn. Bobbie is survived by: her daughters, Carla Fisher of Wayne, Rhonda Fisher of Wayne, and Rebecca Mantooth of Wayne; her son, Harvey Fisher and wife Laura of Wayne; siblings, Irene Hearrell, Sam Taylor, Susie Harris; 5 grandchildren, Braden Weeks and husband Drew, Dawson Mantooth, Maddox Mantooth, Mckenzie Fisher, and Ben Fisher; 2 great-grandchildren, Scout Weeks and Letty Weeks, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Viewing will be 9:00am - 7:00pm Monday, May 12th. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00am Tuesday, May 13th at Little’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Byars Cemetery.
