Boyd Dee Bebout

Boyd Bebout, age 84 of Purcell, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Sunset Estates Nursing Home. Boyd Dee Bebout was born August 11, 1933, on the Bebout Family homestead, southwest of Purcell. He was the 3rd of 13 children born to John H. and Nina (Rhoten) Bebout. During the Great Depression, the Bebout family moved west to California to work the cotton farms. Boyd graduated high school in Blyth, California in 1952. Boyd joined the United States Navy that same year, and served his country proudly during the Korean War. After the war, he returned back home to Purcell. He married his best friend and life sweetheart, Ms. Lawana Dillard, on September 11, 1954 in Purcell. They made their home primarily in Purcell, where together they raised 4 children, sons, Jeff and Steven and daughters, Debbie and Cindy. Boyd was a hard worker and a great provider. He began working for GTE for a short time in Purcell and later in Arizona. Once back in Purcell, he worked for several years as a self-employed truck driver. He later worked as Deputy Sheriff for McClain County Sheriff's office until his retirement. Boyd always stayed busy doing something, and later worked casino security for the Chickasaws. When not working, Boyd enjoyed tending to his garden and watching barrel racing. His favorite pastime was "to loaf", and it fit him to a tee. Boyd liked to play golf, looked forward to deer season and never missed an opportunity to visit with family and friends. Boyd cherished his family. He was a wonderful husband and father, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Boyd was a true friend to many. He will be dearly missed! He was preceded in death by: His son, Jeff Bebout; Parents, John and Nina Bebout; Twin sister, Joyce Murray; Brothers, John, Ken, Gary and Donald. Boyd is survived by: His wife of 63 years, Lawana Bebout of the home; Son, Steven Bebout and wife Jennifer of Purcell; Daughters, Debbie Greene and husband Paul of Purcell and Cindy Horn of Purcell; 3 sisters, Martha George of Purcell, Diane Garrett of Bartlesville, And Linda Womack of Purcell; 3 brothers, Dale Bebout, Dennis Bebout and Larry Bebout, all of Purcell; Grandchildren; John Bebout and Ellen, Amanda Nelson and Garrett, Amber Keely and Zach, Jaclyn Farquhar and Drew, Blake Greene, Tyler Greene, Brandy Harris and Zack, Dillon Duke, Ashley Clement and Jonathan, Lacey Bebout, Blair Bebout and Charissa, Lindsey Hooten and Xavier And Ashley Wise Great grandchildren, Clare Bebout, Wyatt Mills, Lucas Jones, Mandolin Keely, Jack Farquhar, Oliver Greene, Kyan Davis, Kagan Davis, Gracie Harris, Bodee Duke, Jackson Clement, Emberly Clement, Caylee Bebout and Amara Hooten, and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
