Carolyn Sue Alsup

Carolyn Alsup, age78, of Lindsey passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024. Carolyn Sue Bennett was born on November 28, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the oldest of three daughters born to James Bennett and Ruth Margaret (Camren) Bennett. She was primarily raised in Oklahoma City where she attended school at both Arthur Elementary and Roosevelt Jr. High up until around the 8th grade. A short time later, in 1965, she met a man named Kenneth Stephens. The two quickly fell in love and were married. Carolyn and Kenneth's love story was nothing short of epic, full of memories and history to last a lifetime. They truly were the love of each other's life! For the majority of Carolyn's working career, she worked as a file clerk for both Oklahoma County and Cleveland County Courthouse. Later she moved on to warehouse work for Parts Plus Industries where she worked as a warehouse supervisor. Carolyn was driven and dedicated to working hard and providing for her family. Even after she had retired from the warehouses, she was employed at Walmart as a salesclerk. Carolyn was very sweet, friendly, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had the biggest smile and a huge laugh that was contagious to everyone around her. In her free time, she enjoyed taking care of her house, yard work, watching old movies, dancing and going on road trips whenever possible. More than anything, Carolyn was a family woman. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She truly cherished every moment with them. Carolyn was a beloved mother, Mema, sister, aunt, and a true friend. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth Stephens; son, Curtis Dunbar; parents, James and Ruth Bennett; and sister, Shirley Lovelady. Carolyn is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Martin and husband Randy of Lindsey, and Pat Allen of Norman; sister, Loretta Jones and husband Bobby of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Curtis Lee, Timothy, Clayton, Raechel, and Kendall; 1 great-grandson Noah and a host of other family and friends.
