Christopher Joseph Cox

Our angel in heaven, Christopher Cox age 67 of Wanette, passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2025. Christopher Joseph Cox was born in Purcell, OK on May 10, 1957 to John Monroe Cox and Ruby Irene Cox (Millsap). He started working at a young age, and kept the same rigorous work ethic his whole life through. He spent time in masonry, trailer fabrication, and worked as a shipping and receiving manager at Jaderloon most of his career. He met his soul mate and married at age 17, on April 19, 1974, and started a family with his beloved wife Donna Arlene Cox, and now they are reunited. He lost his wife too soon and raised his five children on his own. He was the center of their family and their world. Christopher fostered a close-knit family home and sacrificed to provide for the needs of his children. From new school clothes, to bright Christmas mornings he made sure they were always loved and taken care of. The next love of his life came along when he had grandkids. He celebrated every milestone and accomplishment with them- from their first fish to ballgames he did his best to never miss a moment. Any chance he got, he spoiled his grandchildren. He loved having cookouts at home and inviting everyone over for a good time. Christopher loved catching football, basketball, or a good western on TV and never passed up an Andy Griffith Show rerun. He had a way with plants, some of his indoor plants have been thriving for decades. He kept his favorite Zebco rods and reels in tip top shape for the next fishing trip at the lake. Christopher was a simple man, who lived a simple life full of love, who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna and his parents John Monroe Cox and Ruby Irene Cox; nephew, D.J. Lamance and great nephew, Parker Marsh. He is survived by his 5 children: daughter Christina Brundage and husband Josh, daughter Caterina Salisbury and husband Tony, daughter Taisa Cox and spouse Ray, son Aaron Cox and wife Heather, and son John Cox. His many grandchildren: Christopher Trent and his spouse Cat, Luke and his wife Mya, Aaron, Madalynn, Harley and spouse Triston and their daughter Makenna, Roar’Ie, Alex, Kobe, Christian, Tytan, Nayeli, Zayden, Dezaray, Aniston, Matthew, and Jaceton and his son Casey. His siblings: Teresa Wilson and her husband Ronnie, Sharon Lockard and her husband Greg, Johnny Cox and his spouse Peggy, Kenneth Patrick Cox and his wife Ning, and Diann Williams and her husband Rodney. Chris also has many other nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins that he dearly loved. A graveside memorial is scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Lexington, Oklahoma.
