Dallie Godwin

Dallie Edward Godwin II December 11, 1955 – July 29, 2025 Dallie Edward Godwin II, born December 11, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully and went home to the Lord on July 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Dallie Godwin and Dorothy Beasley Godwin; his sister, Doris Louise Bradway; and his brothers, Robert and Kenneth Godwin. Dallie is survived by his siblings: sister Lora Godwin; brother Tim Godwin and his wife, Rosetta; brother Edward Godwin and his wife, Michelle; as well as brother-in-law Bob Bradway and sisters-in-law Judy Godwin and Etta Godwin. He also leaves behind numerous cherished nephews and nieces. A proud veteran, Dallie served in the United States Air Force from August 9, 1974, to August 8, 1978, as an Aerospace Control Systems Operator. A highlight of his military service was conducting surveillance operations at Murphy Dome, Alaska. After his honorable discharge, Dallie earned a degree in Business Administration from Eastern State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma. He went on to work as a forklift operator at the McAlester Ammunition Depot after an injury occurred there, he started as a newspaper deliveryman. Dallie took great pride in serving his customers, braving early morning cold and winter weather with unwavering dedication until the digital age transformed the industry. Dallie found joy in the serene surroundings of the United Spanish-American War Veterans Colony, where he made his home. He enjoyed watching Westerns, listening to classic rock, and engaging in lively political discussions. Known for his independence and forthright nature, Dallie was a man who stood by his principles and never sought help from others. Somewhere in is journey of life he found that Jesus mattered and he gave his life to his savior. Above all, he was a devoted brother whose presence will be deeply missed. A celebration of Dallie’s life will be held at the Veterans Colony, Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery, at 2:00pm on Saturday August 9th, 2025 with a graveside to follow beginning at 3:00pm. Services will be held at the Colony Community Hall (large natural stone building) by two Naval Guns.
