Darlene Boatright

Darlene Boatright, of Blanchard, entered into heavens gates on October 20th in Norman, Oklahoma. Linda Darlene Brock was born the oldest of three on September 24th, 1948 to John and Wanda Brock in Floydada, Texas. Darlene spent her early years in Floydada until her family settled in Del City where she attended Crooked Oak Schools, graduating in 1967. She married young to Charles Van Duker which blessed her with her daughter, Angela. She later met Glenn Boatright through her sister-in-law Julie and it was true love at last. When they got married, the preacher was two hours late but the rest of their life together was timed out just right. They made their first home in Bridge Creek where they lived until they settled on a farm in Lexington in 1994. While living in Lexington, Darlene was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she made many friends and memories. Life led them back to the Bridge Creek area when they moved to Blanchard in 2005. Since making their home there, Darlene and Glenn have attended Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Darlene was a dedicated worker. She worked for the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center for nearly thirty years, retiring as the Resident Program Specialist of Family Medicine. Darlene was a committed woman of faith, who will be dearly missed by her friends, family, and all those that knew her. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents John Henry Brock and Wanda Faye (Pricer) Brock. She is survived by her Husband Glenn Boatright of the home. Her Daughters Angela Moran and Husband Bobby of Lady Lake, Florida and Hope Cherie Coppola and Husband Robbie of Lantanna, Texas. Her sister Vanda Quinn and Husband Rodney of Oklahoma City, OK; Her brother Barry Brock and wife Julie of Tuttle, OK. Her grandchildren, Elizabeth Krongold and Husband Alex of Jones Town, Texas, Morgan Olson and Husband Braden of Lewisville, Texas, and Joshua Moran of Lake Mary, Florida. And seven great grandchildren, Ari, Baby Alex, Ira, Ivy Jo, William, Shay, and Emmett. Visitation will be Sunday, October 24th from 1pm-5pm at the Newcastle location.
