Frances Loretta Hodges

Frances Hodges, age 92 of entered Heaven's Gates on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Frances Loretta Edwards was born June 8, 1930 in Oklahoma City, the 3rd of 4 children born to Clyde Henry Edwards and Willie Victoria (Gosnell) Edwards. She was raised near Goldsby and attended school there. She married her best friend and life partner, Rayburn Barrett Hodges on September 4, 1946 in Slaton, Texas. They shared 69 wonderful years together and they were inseparable. Where you saw one, you saw the other. Together they raised five children, sons, Royce and Mike and daughters, Phyllis, Vicki and Rendie. Frances worked tirelessly in the home, caring and providing for their every need. She was a woman of great faith and longtime member of the Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell. Frances served in many capacities within the church, and most importantly as a prayer warrior. One night she dreamed about a song, while her son Royce was in Vietnam, and she awakened to write a song called "Hope". She prayed fervently for her family and friends and many who she might not even know. She enjoyed painting, crafting and attending craft shows, and never missed an opportunity to go to Walmart. She loved to sit on her deck and enjoy her fountain and truly appreciated the beauty of God. Frances was an excellent cook and will be forever remembered for her dressing. Frances cherished her family and spending time at the family lake property at Lake Eufaula. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, great grandmother and a true friend. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Phyllis Jean Miller; her husband Rayburn Hodges; her parents, Clyde and Willie Edwards; two sisters, Bernice Holly and Margie Ruth Biggs and a brother, Clyde Henry Edwards Jr. Frances is survived by: her sons, Royce Hodges and wife Shirley of Purcell and Mike Hodges and wife Gwen of Lexington; her daughters, Vicki Hall and husband Roy of Junction, TX and Rendie Pitts and husband Tommy of Lexington; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 27, 2023, at Noble Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. www.wilsonlittle.com.
