Gary Lee Miller

Gary Lee Miller, age 67 of Moore, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Brookhaven Extensive Care in Norman, OK. He was born September 30, 1944 in Marshall, OK., the 2nd child of five children born to Ray Dean Miller and Dorothy Elizabeth (Bussard) Miller. Gary grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1963. After H.S. he attended Okmulgee Technical Center and received his Certification in Industrial Electrical Maintenance. He then began working for Ralston Purina in Ft Worth and in OKC. In 1966 during the Vietnam Era, Gary was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country overseas as a helicopter mechanic. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Oklahoma, first living in OKC then later moving to Moore. Gary later began a career in the Railroad Industry where he worked as a machinist for more than 32 years before retiring from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe. On May 30, 1980, Gary married Vicki Lynn Wattles. For the past 32 years, they have made many wonderful memories together traveling and spending time with their families. Gary had many hobbies including; fishing, cars, playing cards, reading and watching the Oklahoma Sooners. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a wonderful grandfather, a special brother and uncle and a good friend. He will be greatly missed! He was preceded in death by: His parents: Ray and Dorothy Miller His brother, Thomas Henry Miller Gary leaves behind: His wife, Vicki, of the home His daughter, Leslie Gomez of OKC 3 sons, Emmett Miller of Moore Michael Miller and wife Julie of Breckenridge, OK Ford Wattles of Yukon 2 sisters, Judy Snodgrass and husband Leon of Enid Jan Barnes and husband Thomas of Harrah, OK His brother, Leon Miller and wife Corene of Norman 7 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends Gary's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the physicians and to all the facilities and their staff for the special care they gave. Rosary Services are scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. The Funeral Mass Service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
