Greg Bay

Greg Bay, age 53 of Purcell, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021. Gregory Dean Bay was born April 15, 1967 in Okla. City, OK, to Dean and Carol (Herber) Bay. Greg was raised in the Moore/Norman area and attended school in Moore, graduating with the Lion's Class of 1985. One night while cruising 12th street, Greg met Dalene McGuire. They met in the Taco Bell parking lot on April 30, 1989, and a few months later, on December 2, 1989, Greg and Dalene were married in Moore, OK. They first made their home in Moore, later moving to Bridge Creek. In July of 1999, they moved to Purcell where they raised their children, Parker, Faith and Hunter. Greg first built and rebuilt, high performance jet pumps. He worked for Britton Electric for many years and also Evans Electric doing crane work and inspecting cranes. For the last 12 years, Greg had worked for DCP Midstream as an I & E technician, and more recently as a Scheduler Planner. Greg's greatest joy was his family. He cherished Dalene and was a proud father. He looked forward to ball season, and very rarely missed an activity or game. Greg was a man of few words, who enjoyed the simplicity of life and the beauty of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, and more recently look forward to participating in sporting clay competitions and events. He loved his bird dogs, and looked forward to both deer and quail seasons, and he passed this love to his boys. The last several years, Greg had fulfilled his dream of having land and spending countless hours, ranching and tending to his cattle with his family. Greg was a man of faith and principle; a wonderful husband and father, son, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed! He was preceded in death by: His baby girl, Kyndall Paige Bay and grandparents, Harry Bay, Ted Schoenhals and Dave and Molly Herber. Greg is survived by: his wife, Dalene of the home; his children, Parker, Faith and Hunter Bay, all of Purcell; parents, Carol Wells and husband Michael of Washington and Dean Bay and wife Lisa of Moore; grandma, Betty Ruth Schoenhals of Woodward; siblings, Cherie Schubach of Moore, Matthew Bay and wife Andrea of Bridge Creek, Jennifer Bay of Moore, Michelle Woods and husband Tim of Garden City, KS and Jesse Wells of Norman, OK; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
