Harold Ray Perry

Harold Ray Perry, age 77, of Noble passed away in his home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born May 28, 1944 in Washington, Oklahoma, to Ernest Hayes Perry and Bessie I. (Burns) Perry. He was raised in the Goins community west of Purcell and graduated with the Dragon Class of 1962. Ray faithfully served his country in the Army during Vietnam, and while stationed in San Antonio, TX, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Virginia Hodam, on October 30, 1966. When he was discharged by the Army, Ray and Evelyn moved to Purcell where they started their family, and in 1972, they had settled in Noble, where they raised 3 children, son Randy Perry, and daughters, Cindy and Cathy Perry. Ray retired from Tinker Air Force Base after more than 20 years. When he wasn't working, he was tending to his chickens, or gardening, or on a fish bank. Ray cherished his family and always looked forward to fishing trips and playing dominos on the weekends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; parents, Ernest and Bessie; brother, Joe Perry; and sisters, Marilyn Perry and Linda Thurston and husband Buster Thurston, and brother-in-law, Stan Deason. Ray is survived by: his son, Randy Perry of Noble; his daughters, Cindy Hornbuckle (Billy) of Noble and Cathy Schoenbaum (Ben) of Norman; his sisters, Theda Deason of Purcell, Carolyn Kennedy (Charles) of Washington, Marie Thompson (Burl) of Lexington, Julie O'Neal of Lampasas, Texas and Janet O'Connor (Dennis) of Lampasas, Texas; brothers, Bo Perry (Debbie) of Purcell and Pat Perry (Mary Lou) of Lexington; sister-in-law, Barbara Perry of Purcell; aunt Julie Wyatt (Ken) of OKC; 6 grandchildren, Vanessa 'Nessa' Perry, Devin 'Hot Shot' Byars, Bailey 'Cranky Butt' Hornbuckle, Raelyn 'Chubby' Hornbuckle, Nathan 'Nate' Schoenbaum and Kaitlyn 'Squeaky' Schoenbaum, as well as a host of family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Little's Chapel, Wilson-Little Funeral Home, Purcell. Burial will follow at the Fairview Maguire Cemetery in Noble.
