Jimmie Landers

Jimmie G. Landers, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024 while living in Ohio. Jimmie was born on March 3, 1934 to the late Alonzo Neal and Mary Elizabeth Beaty in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Jimmie is preceded in death by her husbands, James Anderson, Joe Glassco and Homer Landers; 8 brothers and sisters, and her grandson, Scott. She is survived by her children, James Anderson and his wife, Sue of Columbus, OH, Donna Tillman and her husband, Robert of Reno, NV, Jeff Glassco and his wife, Lori of Little Chute, WI, Rick Landers and his wife, Rita of Lexington, Vickie Hahn of Kingston, Jo Carroll of Midwest City, Kay Lyles and her husband, Randy of Goldsby, and Sue Holsonbake of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Erin Blackburn and her husband, Jesse, Sean Uits, Laura Coleman and her husband, Steven, Meagan Weaver, and her husband, Matthew, James Anderson and his wife, Perla, Nate Glassco and his wife, Sarah, Zach Hageman of Conroe, Texas, and Bruce Glassco of East Troy, WI; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jane Allen of Norman, and Judy Lingle of Dibble, and too many cousins, nieces and nephews to count. Jimmie was the last of 9 children and was always called the "baby" by everyone in the family. She was a cheerleader and star basketball player at Ninnekah H.S. She spent time in Germany and Texas but the majority of her life was spent in Oklahoma. Jimmie was a longtime and active member of The First Baptist Church of Lexington. God laid on her heart to start a "clothes closet" ministry, which she started out of her home. Over the years the ministry grew, and through it an untold number of people were helped and blessed. Jimmie had a kind and gentle spirit, was willing to help where she could and always saw the best in everyone. She was many things to many people, but to us, she will always be our Mom and Grandma, the matriarch of our family. More importantly, she was a strong Christian woman with a deep and abiding faith in God. She spent a great deal of time reading her Bible and in prayer, especially for her family. When we think of our Mom, Proverbs 31: 25-31 often comes to mind. We know that she is having a wonderful time reunited with her family. Jimmie will be missed by many, but never forgotten. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday from 5-7pm. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Lexington. The church address is 900 E. Broadway, Lexington, OK, 73051. The interment will follow the service at the Noble I.O.O.F Cemetery.
