John Henry Rosser

John Henry Rosser passed away July 19, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital after battling various medical issues the past couple of years. John was born July 17, 1942 in Dumas, TX. His parents were Gale and Dorothy "Dawsey" Rosser. He graduated high school in Amarillo, and went to college at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX before graduating from West Texas A & M University in Canyon, TX. He then joined the Army where he served in Army Intelligence including serving in Korea from 1966-1968. He worked all over the country in the oil & gas industry before marrying Clarice Brown Rosser on February 14, 1985 and making his home in Woodward, OK. In Woodward, he was an active member of the Rotary and at First United Methodist Church. His work with the Shaw Group as a contracts manager had him building refineries and power plants in various places across the US and one in Panama City, Panama. He retired from the Shaw Group in 2008 to care for Clarice who passed in 2009. In 2011, he moved to Norman, OK where he met Jean Stinson, who would become very special to him and his travel companion. He was a member of the Cross Timbers Rotary and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was very generous with his time and money, and was a proud Rotarian. He liked to travel, play golf and to tell you about his hole in one on #4 at Boiling Springs. He loved to laugh and harass his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gale & Dorothy Rosser, and wife, Clarice Brown Rosser, his cat, Willie, and dog, Buster. He is survived by daughter, Kimberly Rosser Fulks and husband Vince of Purcell, daughter, Michelle Rosser Majors and husband Lex of Hydro, son-in-Law, Ted Cox and wife Lori of Purcell, Jean Stinson of Norman, brother-in-law, Les Brown and wife Donna of Norman; grandchildren, Lauren Arrasmith, James Cox and Cheyenne Fulks; nephew Newt Brown; and special friends Dru, Kara and Creed Smith. All of us are sure he arrived at the Pearly Gates on time and as scheduled. If they are not sufficiently organized up there, John will put them on a schedule.
