Paula Joyce Brown May 12, 1940 – September 7, 2026. Paula Joyce (Grissom) Brown of Noble, OK, passed away at home on September 7th, in Noble, Ok. She was born May 12, 1940, at home in Noble, OK, the 8th of 10 children born to Cyrus Dion Grissom and Nellie Carrie (Stufflebean) Grissom. Paula Joyce was named after her Aunt Pauline “Polly” Murnan. She was raised on the family farm in Noble, and graduated from Noble High School in 1958. Joyce worked at a dental office in her early working days. She found a long-time work family at Earl’s Flowers and Gifts in Norman. She spent over 30 years working at Earl’s and had a fulfilling career until her retirement. Joyce married her husband John of 32 years in February of 1979. They welcomed their only child, Paula Sherea on July 17, 1979. Shortly after Paula’s birth, the family moved to Carnegie, OK where John was an Oklahoma highway lake patrolman at Ft Cobb Lake. In 1985, Joyce, John, and Paula moved home to the Northcutt Family Farm in Lexington to be closer to family, which was always at the center of Joyce’s heart. She was so pleased to be able to raise Paula close to the family. She took a break from working full-time to make a home for John and Paula which was her life’s work and pleasure until Paula went into the 4th grade. Joyce loved her extended family as well; she especially loved being an Aunt. Her nieces and nephews were a huge presence and joy in her life. She stayed in contact with them and continued on with her great nieces and nephews and their children. On November 16, 2002, John and Joyce gained a son in BJ, Paula’s husband. John nicknamed BJ, "The Golden Boy”. Then, on February 17, 2005 Joyce became a Mema. Brock and Macy were born and her world became complete. She was very involved with her family, even more so when she began living with Paula’s family in Noble 2018. She was preceded in death by: Parents, Cyrus and Nellie Grissom Husband, John E. Brown in 2011 Three sisters, Donnie Nell Northcutt, Nadine Pederson, and Evelyn Fox, Four brothers, Vernon, Billy, Nolan, and Gordon Grissom. She is survived by: Daughter, Paula Miller and husband BJ of Noble, OK Grandson, Brock Miller of Noble, OK Granddaughter, Macy Miller and fiancé Payton Elmore of Norman, OK Two sisters, Nona Argo of Norman, Mona Roberts and husband Elmer of Norman, Two sisters-in-law, Jonell Grissom of Noble, and Sharon Grissom McCall of Atoka Also many nieces, nephews, great- nephews, great nieces, cousins and a host of friends. Viewing Thursday, September 10, 2026, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. -7:00 P.M. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2026 at Little’s Chapel. Burial will follow at the Willow View Cemetery near Lexington.
