Kathryn Lee

Kathryn Lee, age 87 of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Kathryn Laverne Boutwell was born June 18, 1934 in Ardmore, OK, the 4th of 11 children born to Homer Lafayette Boutwell and Nora Frances (Allen) Boutwell. Kathryn faced many challenges and struggles growing up, and yet she always managed to overcome them. She lived in various towns across Oklahoma, before moving to Porterville, CA. She attended Sharon Bible College in Madera, CA. Kathryn eventually made her way back to Oklahoma, and it was here, she was to meet her husband. Kathryn believed that God would send the right man, and she knew when she met Glen Lee, that He had. They were married on February 7, 1959 in Pauls Valley. That same year, Glen received his credentials with the Assemblies of God, so he and Kathryn moved to Fitttown to start their ministry. There were stops in Shattuck and Newcastle, before settling in OKC. Together they raised two daughters, Karen and Glynnis. Kathryn worked some at the voting polls and some office work for Grider's Grocery Store in OKC. Mainly she worked with Glen, pastoring and teaching, wherever the Lord could use her. She was a woman of great faith; and avid reader and she cherished her family. She was a gifted musician, enjoyed playing the piano, and shared her many talents with family and friends. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her husband, Pastor Glen Lee; parents, Homer and Nora Boutwell and siblings, Jimmy Boutwell, Bill Boutwell, Robert Boutwell, Judy Defibaugh, Betty Davis, Helen Klophenstin, Sarah Keltner and Tommy Boutwell. Kathryn is survived by: her daughters, Karen Wooten and husband Carl of Lexington and Glynnis Kirk and husband Randy of Choctaw; Sister Sandra Corley of Dibble, OK; brother, David Boutwell and wife Jackie of Claremore, OK; grandchildren, Trey Wooten, Stephen Wooten and wife Erica, T.J. Wooten and wife Jaime, Leslie Gilbert and husband Travis and Jeffery Kirk and wife Kori; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Bethesda Church in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
