Lee Carrier

Lee Carrier, age 74 of Newcastle, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Harold Lee Carrier Jr. was born March 7, 1947 in Fairview, OK, the middle child of three children born to Harold Sr. and Treva Carlene (Major) Carrier. His early years were spent in Fairview where he began school, and later Oklahoma City. Lee graduated from U.S. Grant Highschool with the Class of 1965. He then attended the University of Central Oklahoma for a time, all the while working some odd jobs whenever he could. Taking the advice of his father, Lee joined the United States Army and served his country during two tours in Vietnam. He was true patriot, and proud of his service. He married young, to Cara Splawn, and to this union, daughters, Holly and Heather were born. At this time, Lee was working at Tinker Air Force Base, and he worked there for several years. He later met Tommye Ree Mays, and they were later married on March 4, 1983. By the mid 1980's, Lee and Tommye packed up their young family and moved to Newcastle. Lee opened his own business, Lee's Electrical Contractor. He truly loved his work, and served Newcastle and the surrounding areas until his retirement. Away from work, Lee never missed an opportunity to go fishing. He was a one-of-a-kind craftsman, and built the most beautiful wood crafts, specializing in clocks. He was an excellent cook, and will be forever remembered for his cinnamon rolls. Lee was a man of great faith and longtime member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Tommye Carrier and his parents, Harold Sr and Treva Carrier. Lee is survived by: his daughers, Holly Sterling and husband David of Southern California and Heather Carrier of Houston; Sisters, Kay Newsom of Woodstock, GA and Connie Cardoni of Okla. City; step children, Michael Mays and wife Susan of Moore, Sandy Humphrey and husband James of Chickasha and Mitchell Mays and Heather Truex of Okla. City; 4 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 8 great step great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Burial will follow at Newcastle Memorial Gardens. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
