Lillian Traylor

Lillian Nolen Traylor, 94, passed away while surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 26, 2017. She was born March 10, 1922 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. Lillian was the 3rd of eight children born to Clidge Nolen and Nova (Hale) Nolen. She grew up in Oklahoma City where she learned the value of hard work. Lillian was the matriarch of the Traylor family. Although fiercely independent, she found a worthy counterpart in Beverly Osborne Traylor whom she married on January 23, 1955. Together they made their home in Oklahoma City and raised one son, Harry. Lillian was a trailblazer, giving equal value to her domestic and professional responsibilities. She worked for APCO Oil Company for 42 years. After retiring from APCO, she assisted AARP clients with their taxes at the Edmond Public Library. There was no task Lillian could not master. Throughout her life she became skilled in numerous hobbies, including, gardening, china painting, and renovating. She also enjoyed horses and going to Lake Tenkiller with her family. In her later years, she devoted her life to spending time with her grandchildren and instilling in them her pioneering spirit. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her wisdom, wit, grace (when pertinent), and undying love and caring for them. The values that she honored and shared will be her legacy. She was preceded in death by: Parents, Clidge and Nova Nolen; Husband, Beverly Traylor; Sister, Faye; Four brothers, Ray, Wade, Thomas and Dean; and Her best friend and niece, Nova Meek. She is survived by: Son, Harry Traylor and wife Julie of Edmond, OK; Two Grandchildren, Adelee Traylor Seidel and husband Victor Seidel and Nolen Traylor, all of Nashville, TN; Sister, Orvetta Scott and husband Gene of San Rafael, CA; Sister-in-law, Lavon Nolen of Midwest City, OK; Many nieces and nephews, Larry and Maureen Nolen of Las Vegas, NV; Julie and Rob English of Elizabeth, CO; Al Nolen of Anza, CA; Terry and Ed Carr of San Rafael, CA; Claudia Uecker of Rapid City, SD; Michael and Keri Samples of Dallas, TX; Patricia and Neil Lucht of Edmond, OK; Lauren and Thomas Abney of Oklahoma City, OK; and Alexandra and Alan Ardelean of Chicago, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 2, 2017 at The Historic Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery in north Oklahoma City. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
