Lillie Ruthelen Ivester

Lillie Ruthelen Ivester passed away October 1st, 2021 in Oklahoma City. She was born on January 24th, 1941 in Weathers, Oklahoma, the 4th of 6 children to Holsom Moore and Pearl (Tharp) Moore. She grew up and attended school in the Crooked Oak area, graduating with the class of 1958. As a senior in high school, she married Darrell Dwayne Campbell and together they had a son, Dwayne JR. Later in life while caring for her parents, Ruthelen met Henry Ivester and after a short courtship the two were married on May 24th, 1985. For a time, Ruthelen worked for the University of Oklahoma, she then began her career at General Motors as an assembly line worker, which she retired from after nearly 30 years of service. When she wasn't working, Ruthelen loved cross stitching and needle point, as well as gardening- she had two green thumbs and could grow anything! Ruthelen's home was a social hub for her family, she loved to entertain and be a hostess. She found joy in making sure everyone was fed and made to feel welcome. Ruthelen and her family of deer hunters looked forward to their Annual Deer Camp every season. She would take a week off work and cook every meal for the hunting party during the excursion, making sure nobody went hungry out in the woods. Ruthelen was proud of her Chickasaw Heritage. She was a granddaughter of Ruthlelane James, an original member of the tribal roll, number 4840. She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Ruthelen was preceded in death by her parents, Holsom and Pearl Moore. Her Brother, Marvin Moore. And by her Husband, Henry Ivester. She is Survived by her siblings, Sisters Ida Mae Elliot and Husband Rondall of Lexington, Martha Kay Elliot of Blanchard. Brothers, Robert Moore and wife Vonda of Hope, Arkansas, Merle Moore and Wife Doris of Noble. Her son Dwayne Campbell and wife Donna of Blanchard and Daughter Cherie Hudson of Purcell. Grandchildren, Thomas Hudson of Phoenix, AZ, Amber Getts (Richard) of Lexington, Tye Campbell of Norman, Mason Campbell of Mustang, Brandon Vickers of Blanchard, Wade Vickers and Zachary Vickers, both of OKC; 7 great grandchildren, Jessica, Jaydon, Saraya, Lillian, Payton, Luke and Laramie, and a host of other family and friends.
