Linda Harris

Linda DaOnne Pirtle Harris, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026 in Dallas, Texas. Born on March 30, 1949, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Linda was the daughter of Glen Dell Sr. and Velma Pirtle. She attended Poughkeepsie High School in Poughkeepsie, New York. Linda eventually made her home in Rowlett, Texas where she raised her two daughters and built a distinguished career serving her community. Linda dedicated many years to the City of Rowlett, where she rose to the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police. She was deeply respected by her colleagues and formed many lifelong friendships during her tenure. It was also during her time with the City that she met the love of her life, George Harris. The two were wed in 2003 and shared 23 years of a beautiful, devoted marriage. Linda and George shared a passion for travel and found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly spending quiet evenings on their back porch watching golfers out on the course. Above all else, Linda was a pillar for her family, cherishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, George Harris; her daughters, Debbie Walker and son-in-law Tim, and Crystal Stone and son-in-law Jereme; her stepchildren, Erin Mixon and son-in-law Eric, and Sean Harris and daughter-in-law Tiffany ; her sister Brenda McCluskey and brother-in-law Steve; and her brother Glen Pirtle and sister-in-law Laura Lee. Linda’s legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Reese Walker and his wife Stephanie, Ryan Walker and his fiancée Olivia Anderson, Reagan Walker, Teagan Stone, Elijah Mixon, Emily Mixon, Lilly Mixon, Noah Harris, and Elijah Harris. She also leaves behind her nieces, Chrissy Maiolo, Jennilee Pirtle and her fiancée Jared Rogers, Victoria Grmela and her husband Sean, and Sydney Pirtle. Linda will be remembered for her kind heart, her professional dedication, and the immense love she had for her family and friends. A service honoring Linda will be held on Wednesday, May 13th at 2pm at Wilson- Little Funeral Home 127 S Canadian Ave Purcell, OK 73080 with a graveside service immediately following Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma.
