Linda Faye Shaw

Linda Shaw age 69, passed away in Oklahoma City on January 14, 2025. Linda Faye Fletcher was born on October 22, 1955 in Oklahoma City to James L. Fletcher and Dorothy Harriet Fletcher. She grew up in Newcastle and attended school there, graduating with the Racer Class of 1974. Linda always credited her parents, her teachers in Newcastle, the 4H Club, and her Sunday School teachers as being highly influential positive forces in her life. She was saved and gave her life to Christ in May of 1974, a path she unwaveringly followed all of her days. She began attending classes at OU in the fall of ’74, and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1978. Over the years she worked for GM, Southwestern Bell, B-Sewn, and Hertz Rentals. Linda primarily held sales positions, but her passion was advertising. She had just landed an advertising position with Hertz in the late 90s when medical issues forced her to retire. Linda was an active member of Sunnyside Baptist church for over forty years, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, game director for AWANA, and took great joy in planning various youth activities. Linda had a passion for antique cars, and loved to visit car museums when traveling with her husband. Her pride and joy was a green 1930 Model A Coupe which she and Steve took to numerous Model A Club activities. She enjoyed crafting and loved to make personalized gifts for kids at church, and for her nieces and nephews. Linda was a beloved wife, sister, and woman of great faith who will be dearly missed. Linda was preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Fletcher. Her sisters Marjorie and Karen, her brother Gaylon, and her brother-in-law Tom. She is survived by her husband Steve Shaw of the home. Her sisters Kathryn Wood of Edmond, OK, Becky Turner and husband Roger of Graham, Washington, Marlena Cook and husband George of Oklahoma City, and her brother James Fletcher and wife Cyndy of, Washington. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nephews. The family has designated Oklahoma 4-H Foundation for Memorial Contributions, to be used to support McClain County 4-H youth programs.
