Margaret Lynn Newville

Margaret Lynn (Kelley) Newville of Oklahoma City went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 2, 1947, in Sutton, WV, to mother, Mary Ellen Herron, Margaret (lovingly referred to as “Margie”) was a doting and powerfully loving wife and mother to two wonderful sons. She never spoke harshly and showed only love and respect to everyone she knew and met. Being raised predominantly by her loving grandparents, Bill and Pearl Herron of Lexington, OK, she became a graduate of Lexington High School in 1965, after which she married her high school sweetheart, Richard Keith Newville on July 3, 1965, and was married to Richard for nearly 60 years at her passing. Their love story began over 62 years ago when they met in the high school lunchroom, being introduced by Richard’s cousin and classmate. Her major interests in life included sewing and dress making, working at her home church-run clothing boutique, then later in life taking up cross-stitch projects to provide lasting memory gifts to her loved ones on special occasions. Another of her most loved endeavors early in motherhood was to keep the official scorebook for her two sons’ little league baseball team, coached by their dad. Baseball was truly a passion in the Newville home. In addition, she was an avid lifelong fan of country star, George Strait, and attended a total of his six concerts with her obliging husband. Margaret was baptized at the Lexington First Baptist Church on April 1, 1956, and at her passing was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and was a member there with Richard of the Fishers of Men Sunday school class. Margie is survived by her husband Richard Newville of Oklahoma City, by her first son, Todd Newville, age 55 of the home in Oklahoma City, her second son, Rick Newville, age 54 of Okarche, OK, and her grandson, Jackson Newville who’s attending Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. Margaret also leaves behind many endearing friends who have prayed for her and her long battle at the end of her earthly life. Her memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lexington, OK on Friday, December 20th at 10:00 AM.
