Martyne Noland

Martyne Noland, age 79 of Geronimo, Okla went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 in Okla. City. She was the 3rd child of 5 children born to Murrel & Opal McMahan. Martyne was born February 17, 1941 in Okla. City where she lived until age 6. In the Fall of 1947 the McMahan family moved to Newcastle where she attended both Newcastle and Bridge Creek Schools. She graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1959. After graduation Martyne attended Central State College for 2 years and later attended Business School in Okla City. In the late 60's Martyne moved to Mullinville, Kansas where her sister, Sue lived. While in Kansas she worked as a personal care giver in private homes and also in nursing homes. While working in Greensburg, Kansas she met Herbert Noland and they were married on November 24, 1972 in Okla. City. After they were married Martyne continued to work in the nursing home and also helped Herb run their service station. While in Kansas their son, Samuel was born in 1983. In 1987 they moved back to Okla. Where they lived in Moore until they moved to Geronimo in 1989. For the past 31 years Martyne and Herb have been part of the Geronimo community. When Sam joined Boy Scouts in 1st grade Martyne and Herb began their 30 year involvement with Scouts. Even after Sam was no longer a Scout, Martyne continued to be active with the organization. Over the years Martyne worked for the Geronimo School system and babysat for several children from infancy until they started school. Martyne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Geronimo. She loved her church family and was involved in the nursery at church for many years and also was a Falls Creek cook. Martyne loved to read and bake. She was always making cookies and brownies for someone to show she loved and cared about them. Martyne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by: Parents: Murrel and Opal McMahan Inlaws: Frances & Samuel Noland She is survived by: Husband: Herb Noland of Geronimo Son: Sam Noland of Jacksonville, Florida 1 Sister: Sue McMahan of Okla City 3 Brothers: Orvis McMahan & wife Pat of Newcastle, OK, Jim McMahan & wife Jo of Brighton, CO; David McMaha & wife Patricia of Okla City, OK Brother-In-Law: Harry Noland of Kansas Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, daughters of the heart and other loving family and friends Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, October 7th at the Geronimo First Baptist Church. Burial will 2:30 PM Wednesday, October 7th at Dibble Cemetery. Visitation will be 5Pm-7PM Tuesday, October 6th at Geroniimo First Baptist Church.
