Mearlene Henshaw

Mearlene Henshaw, age 75, of Noble, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021. Mearlene Capps (Sissy) was born March 10, 1946 in Gilmer, TX, to Archie and Ila Capps. Growing up the daughter of a sharecropper, Mearlene moved around a bit with her family following work, eventually settling in the Chickasha/Dibble area. While working at a small café in Chickasha, OK, Mearlene was introduced to a young man named Albert C. Henshaw (the owner was Albert's mother). They fell in love and were married on her 18th birthday, March 10, 1964. Together they raised 5 children, son Daniel and daughters, Dana, Denise, Debbie and Lisa. A Minister's wife, Mearlene worked side by side with Albert, volunteering wherever needed, and serving every chance she could. She played piano, sang in the choir and looked forward to mission trips to Mexico. She cherished her family and her fur baby Gabby. She kept an immaculate house and she lived by faith each day. Along with Albert, they ministered at many churches throughout the years, but her heart was always at Lighthouse Christian Assembly. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her husband Albert Henshaw; grandson, Mark Shannon; parents, Archie and Ila Capps and several siblings. Mearlene is survived by: her son, Daniel Henshaw and wife Karen of Tecumseh; Daughters, Dana Bateman and husband Mike of Noble, Denise Sterling and husband James of Noble, Debbie Shannon of Cleveland, TX and Lisa Johnson and husband Michael of Houston, TX; Brother, Bill Neely and wife Ivonne of Arlington, TX; sister, Wanda Turney of Chickasha; grandchildren Michael, Blake, Amber, Michaela, Abigail, Ava, Cassandra and husband Robert, Amar and wife Kindal, James and wife Jessica, Caleb and wife Marie, Rose and fiancé Tyler; great grandchildren Keaton, Carson, Corbin, Kambree, Asher, Kaden, Citalee, Emma, Wayde, Ethan, Matthias, Johnathan and Joshua, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Heartland Freewill Baptist Church, 17601 S. Santa Fe Ave, OKC, OK, 73170. Burial will follow at the Noble Cemetery.
