Michael Ray Kane

Michael Ray Kane age 64 of Wayne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at his daughter's home in Lexington. Michael was born on August 1, 1948 in Seminole, OK. He was the youngest child of six children born to Theodore Leroy Kane and Beulah Mae (Williams) Kane. Michael grew up on a farm in Seminole County and attended Pleasant Grove Schools. After graduating in 1966, he joined the U. S. Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. After being honorably discharged he returned to Oklahoma and later married Ollie Bratcher. Together they raised three children and made their home in Wayne, OK. Throughout his life, Michael worked hard at various jobs. In his earlier years he worked in the oil field. He later worked in the carpet business for a retailer in Wayne and then in Norman for many years. Over the last 10 years of his life, Michael worked as a handyman doing painting and carpentry work. It was said that he could fix or repair about anything that was broken. Michael had many hobbies that kept him in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting. He used to garden, but he mainly liked to collect things, some of value and some of no value except to him. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a wonderful brother and good friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by: Parents: Ted and Beulah Mae Kane Sister: Johnnie Sue Partain Brother: James "Jim" Kane Daughter-in-law: Sandra Casey Four nephews: Clifford, Roger and Patrick Kane and Shane Reed He is survived by: Three children: Raenee Dunn and husband Buddy of Lexington Scott Casey of Wayne Jason Kane and wife Jocelin of Wayne The mother of his children: Ollie Kane of Lexington Three sisters: Betty Young and husband L.D. of Sellerburg, IN Joetta Meyer of Wayne Pat Herman and husband Luther of Durant Six grandchildren: Ashly and Meranda Casey, Madalyn and Pyper Dunn Jaden and Casey Kane Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Graveside Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Wolf Cemetery in Wolf, Oklahoma.
