Mildred Hall

Mildred Ilene (Jarboe) Hall. Born February 22, 1934 in Lexington, OK, to Carl and Isal Jarboe, the seventh of eight children, departed her earthly home on August 8, 2018, with her loving daughter, Vicki, grand-dog Duke, and husband Richard by her side who took care of her in their home until the end. Her fight with Alzheimer's ending she will rest in peace and be welcomed by her family members who preceded her to God's heavenly home. Those family members in addition to her father and mother include: brother Robert and his wife Neva Jarboe; brother Raymond and his wife Freeda Jarboe, brother Wayne Jarboe; sister Euna Kluge and her husband Dorrell; sister Doris Watkins and her husband Ed; sister Francis Childers and her husband Bill. Carl Jay Jarboe, Mildred's younger brother, and his wife Jan, Rush Springs, OK, survive her. Mildred's graduation from Lexington High School in 1952 followed her early introduction to learning at a country school, Denton, about two miles from the family farm south east of Lexington, OK. She walked to and from school when her brothers would not let her ride the horse with them. During high school she worked as a volunteer part time at the First Baptist Church where she was a member. She joined the Citizen's State Bank in Oklahoma City after high school working in the accounting department for several years. She later accepted a job at the First National Bank in Norman, OK, a precursor to marrying Richard on December 31, 1955. Mildred was the primary source for family income until March of 1960 while Richard attended OU under the GI bill. As the story goes she married Richard to claim him on her 1955 income tax for the entire year. Their marriage ceremony was in the old family farm house east of Lexington. The honeymoon was at the Indian Hills motel, Ada, OK, for one night. Their first dinner together as a married couple was at a small low cost café on Ada main street. Just the two of them. Cost was a big factor for the honeymoon and wedding. Their families supported them with food stuff and love during school years allowing them to build a strong marriage relationship during these frequently trying times. Their marriage lasted over 62 years "until death do they part", honoring their vows to God. As Richard approached graduation in January 1960 Mildred came home from work one evening and told him he better pass his finals as she had just turned in her resignation. No discussion, she just did it! She did not want to be married to a full time student. She wanted to be a full time homemaker. She always wanted to be a homemaker and make a safe, inviting home for her family. When Vicki arrived Mildred's duties expanded greatly. She did an outstanding job raising Vicki who often got sick just as Richard left on a trip. Vicki was her pride and joy. Mildred enjoyed shopping for bargains and treasures, along with keeping her home a refuge from the busy world for her family. Her beautiful flower beds brought tranquility to their lives. She enjoyed working in these flowers so much she would often work until dark. Mildred's unwavering spiritual life fostered by her parents gave her the strength to continue through breast cancer, spending many hours at home alone, a broken hip, and finally Alzheimer's. She faced all knowing that God was in control of her destiny. She didn't broadcast her faith, just lived it, a factor she taught her daughter and shared with her husband. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell, OK. Interment will be at Lexington Cemetery. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com
