Norval Glynn Millsap

Norval Millsap, 80, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Norval was born November 11, 1932 in Rosedale, OK, to Dewey Hobson Millsap and Elsie (Swinford) Millsap. Norval was the big brother of 5 siblings, John, Don, Jed, Beverly and Kay. He grew up on a farm where he learned how to work hard as a young boy, cutting broomcorn and picking cotton. He attended school in Rosedale, Ok and graduated with the class of 1951. On July 28, 1951 he married Wilma McCall of Rosedale and together they raised 4 children, Mike, Rick, Chris and Monica. His family first lived in Del City, OK and later moved to Salt Lake City, UT, which took him closer to the things he loved in life, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, skiing and camping. He also loved to travel and experience new adventures. While living in Utah Norval worked for Sinclair Oil Co. as a fleet supervisor. On July 14, 1986, his wife Wilma passed away and one year later he remarried. On January 6, 1987 he married Shirley Jones Whitlock who was the mother of three children, David, Terri and Sherri. Now two family's came one. After Norval retired from Sinclair he and Shirley moved back to Oklahoma to be close to the area they both grew up. In 2005 they moved to Sand Springs to be close to their children. During his retirement years Norval spent many hours wood working in his shop, creating beautiful pieces of furniture and crafts. Norval will be remembered as a hardworking, honest man who loved and cherished his family with all his heart. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Norval was preceded in death by: His wife: Wilma of 35 years his son : Mike in June 2011 his parents: Dewey and Elsie brother: Don Millsap and two grandsons: Cody and Joshua Young Norval leaves behind: His wife, Shirley of the home in Sand Springs Three children, Rick Millsap and wife Dana of Leeds, UT Chris Millsap of Manson, WA, Monica Hopkins and husband Ken of Manson, WA Three step children: David Whitlock and wife Dana of Shawnee, OK Terri Willms and husband Brian of Sand Springs, OK Sherri Chronister and husband Keith of Tulsa, OK Two brothers: John Millsap and wife Mary of Purcell, OK, Jed Millsap and wife Alma of Gilbert, AZ, Two Sisters: Beverly McElroy and husband Lee of Bethany, OK and Kay Richardson and husband Larry of Canon, CO, 14 grandchildren: Brandon Young, Adam Millsap, Matthew Millsap, Mike Morgan, JC Morgan, Josh Whitlock, Ryan Whitlock, Searles Whitlock, Landon Whitlock, Harrison Shockley, Cale Chronister, Colony Perry, Jordan Chronister and Haley Willms. and 7 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery, Rosedale, OK.
