Robby Gene Hobson

Robby Gene Hobson, age 53, of Noble passed away on Saturday, December 31,2022. Robby was born in Purcell on December 29, 1969 to Jerry Hobson and Lillie "Faye" Riggle Henderson. He was the oldest of 3 boys born to the couple. Robby graduated with the Lexington Bulldogs class of 1988. He spent his life surrounded by all things rodeo. He hauled bulls, fought bulls and rode bulls. He loved every aspect of the rodeo life. He was known all around the country as Robby "Hotman" Hobson. When he was at the rodeo everyone knew it, as he was the center of attention. He was the life of the party and a dancing dude; he could do all types of dancing and was good at them all even the "dirty leg". When he no longer participating in Rodeo, he was still there supporting Cole. Robby had so many words of wisdom to share with family and friends, quotes that he lived by. He would always say, "Show up to show off" and he would do that every time while rodeoing. Another famous quote was "Everybody wants to be a hero but nobody wants to die for it" and he strived every day to be a hero in everything he did. Robby was a big family man, his life centered around family and friends. He was one of those guys that would do anything for anybody and never expected anything in return. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas he would bring someone new that maybe was less fortunate. He included everyone no matter their story. When he loved you, he loved you unconditionally and always had your back whether you were right or wrong, he would stand by your side. Even as a young boy, Robby watched over and took care of the younger siblings and cousins. He always valued and looked out for his mama. Robby was such a hard worker in everything he did, that it didn't matter the job, he would end up being the boss. He could do about anything, he was a talented welder, a fantastic farm hand, and did all things rodeo. He also loved to fish and coon hunt. Robby was an amazing man and quite the character. He was preceded in death by his son, Chance Hobson; his grandparents, Doyal and Eulan Riggle and Robert and Faye Hobson; and his uncles, Boyd Hobson and Manuel Hobson; Robby is survived by his son, Cole Hobson of Lexington; his parents, Jerry Hobson of Lexington and Faye Henderson of Noble; his brothers, Ronnie Hobson of Byars, Pat Hobson and wife Cindy of Byars, J.D. Henderson and wife Donna of Lexington, and Joey Henderson of Purcell; his sister, Tracy Loftin of Atoka; 2 grandchildren, Ryder and Reagen Hobson; and a host of family and friends. Robby was loved and will be missed. Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2022 at Little's Chapel, Purcell, OK. Burial will follow at Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, OK.
