Ruth Emilie Boxley

Emilie Boxley, age 88, of Lexington passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024. Ruth Emilie Norvell was born on December 16, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK, the 2nd of 4 children born to William Earshal Norvell and Ruth (Cottrell) Norvell. The Norvell family moved around and lived in several different places as Emilie was growing up, but she was primarily raised on a family farm East of Pauls Valley. She graduated from Walker School in the 8th grade. Emilie was driven and dedicated to continuing her education; she never lost sight of that goal, and as such, she later obtained her GED. By chance, while Emilie was helping her dad work on a farm South of Frederick, she was introduced to a young man named, Paul Webster Boxley. The two quickly fell in love and the rest, as they say, is history. They were married on September 17, 1952 in Vernon, Texas and together they raised four beautiful children- Eugene, Michael, Marvin, and Pamela. Becoming a mother was one of her greatest accomplishments in life, and she wore the title like a badge of honor. She considered herself very blessed to be able to stay home and care for her family over the years. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower beds and volunteering to help others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need! Emilie was genuine, caring, loving and kind in nature. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and a friend to many. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Paul Boxley; parents, William and Ruth Norvell; sister, Geneva Brown; brothers, Dewayne and Clifford Norvell; 2 grandchildren, Jerry Harrison and Anthony Boxley and a great-grandchild, Baby Harrison. Emilie is survived by: her sons, Eugene Boxley (Claudia) of Purcell, Michael Dean Boxley of Purcell, and Marvin Boxley (Debbie) of Mustang; daughter, Pamela Nagy (Joseph) of Lexington; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Viewing and visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Monday, September 23, 2024. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at New Mission Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Dripping Springs Cemetery.
