Sue Mixon

Sue Frances Mixon, age 87, passed away December 20, 2020, at her home in Lexington. She was born September 6, 1933 in Lexington, OK to Kirk and Clara (Cruse) May. She attended school at Valley Grove School in the Corbett Community, graduating from Lexington High School in 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Delaine Mixon, June 17, 1951, who preceded her in death in 2001. She was many things to many people. A wife, mother, sister, friend, sister in Christ, Sunday School teacher and prayer warrior. Her most cherished role was being a grandmother, and her grandchildren lovingly called her Meme Sue. Many others, though not related by blood, but love, also called her Meme Sue. Meme Sue loved spending time with her grandkids babysitting, attending sporting events, dance recitals and traveling adventures. The highlight of her week was attending church and teaching her Sunday School Class. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her grandson, Austin Beckham; her husband of 51 years, Delaine Mixon and her parents, Kirk May and Clara May Higbee, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and R.C. Reed. Sue is survived by: her daughter, Debbie Cheek and husband Larry of Lexington, OK; son, Terry Mixon and wife Kaona of Wallville, OK; brother Van Higbee of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Tennille Covey and husband Justin of Norman, OK, Shane Mixon and wife Felecia of Lexington, OK, Kristi Adkins of Cashion, OK, Michelle Gosney and husband Brian of Fairview, OK, Skye Uhlenhake and husband James of Blanchard, OK, Brooklyn Mixon of Pepperell, MA; great grandchildren, Lexie Mixon, Blake Adkins, Khayl Johnson, Ty Mixon, Colt Mixon, Kruz Campbell, Cesily Covey, Laynie Gosney, Bailey Uhlenhake, Taylor Covey and Devyn Uhlenhake; and a host of other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springhill Free Will Baptist Church Youth Group, @ 16900 120th St., Lexington, OK, 73051. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Little's Chapel, Wilson-Little. The service will be livestreamed on our website, www.wilsonlittle.com and our Facebook page, Wilson Little.
