Teresa Ann Irvin

Teresa Ann "Terry" Irvin age 55 of Newcastle, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Oklahoma City. She brightened the world with her birth on November 6, 1958, in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Proud parents were Billy Joe Acock Sr. and Mollie Irene Housiaux. Terry shared her childhood home with her brother, Billy Joe Jr., and sisters, Tammy and Sherry Lynn. After several moves across the country, her family settled in California, where she attended school for several years. However, they moved again and Terry finished her education through Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Oregon. In 1975, she married Bro. Hank (Henry James) Atkinson and they were married for almost 22 years until his passing in 1997. Terry gave her life to God on January 28, 1996, when she gave her hand in baptism to Bro. Charley Cunningham on Super Bowl Sunday. God saw an Oklahoma man, Bro. Chris Irvin, who needed a helpmate and after they saw one another at the last Colorado camp meeting, Terry moved to Oklahoma, following God's instruction for her to fast and pray daily and He would show her where she was to be. She fasted and prayed daily for eight months. They became best friends in the year 2000, followed by a formal proposal on the beach of the island of Kauai. Chris and Terry had a 10-month engagement in July, 2002, and were married on May 31, 2003 in Blanchard. During their engagement, they were able to plan and recreate their love of the Hawaiian Islands for their friends and family to share in and witness their vows. The good Lord above blessed them with ten years - ten months - and nine days - just short of their 11th year anniversary. They enjoyed traveling every chance they could and they especially loved trips to Hawaii and taking cruises, managing to take seven of them in six years. Terry will be remembered for her great smile and her beautiful laugh, and her wonderful personality. Sis. Terry lost her father, Billy Joe, in February 2009. She leaves behind her husband, Bro. Chris Irvin of the home; their spiritually adopted son, Bro. Jolian Brickey and wife, Sis. Lauren of Purcell, OK; their spiritually adopted daughter, Sis. Mary Catherine Holt of Tuttle, OK; she also leaves behind her mother, Mollie Irene Housiaux of Elk Grove, CA; her brother, Billy Joe Acock, Jr., and wife Lisa of Elk Grove, CA; 2 sisters, Tammy Mulnik and husband Doug of Elk Grove, CA, and Sherry Peck and husband Matthew of Port Orchard, WA. There are also Aunt Charlotte Mobley, Aunt Darlene Austin, Aunt Patricia and Uncle John Zazuliak, all of Jerico Springs, Missouri, and aunt, Cheryl McLaurin and husband, Charles, of Clio, South Carolina. She also leaves behind, three brothers-in-law; Brent Irvin and wife Lisa of Blanchard, Jonathan Irvin and wife Tahna of OKC, Jeremy Irvin and wife April of Blanchard; two sisters-in-law, Janette Lytle and husband Ted of Lone Grove, OK and Julie Hudnall of Franklin, KY. She was a very loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and she was affectionately known as "Aunt T" to her nieces, Ireland, Lily and Scotlyn Irvin. A host of brethren, family and friends remains, who love her dearly. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Newcastle Church of the First Born. Interment will be 3:00 P.M. at Parkland Cemetery in Parkland, OK. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle
