Victoria Lee Graybeal

Victoria Lee Graybeal, age 77, of Kentucky passed away January 3, 2023. Vicki was born October 4, 1945 near Eminence, Kentucky. She was the baby of 4 children born to Howard "Pete" and Lena Viola (Welsh) Willhite. She was raised on the family farm and was all about farm work. She learned to be an avid gardener, preserver of fruit and vegetables: canning pickles, jellies, jams and juices. A skill which she taught her next 3 generations. She showed dairy and beef cattle and recently attended her great granddaughter's livestock shows. She won the Miss RECC beauty pageant in 1962. She was the head majorette for Shelby County High's Rockettes class of 1963. In June, she married Jimmy Graybeal and became his #1 fan, cheering section and pit crew. The couple started their family and raised 2 amazing children: Ed and Stephanie. Vicki worked as a seamstress from home until the kids were well into school. She then became a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. She knew the people on her route as family and was able to assist them in many ways including a lifesaving notification. Overcoming many obstacles and setbacks, Vicki persevered and lived life abundantly. For the past 11 years, Vicki had been living with her daughter and family in Oklahoma. She enjoyed her role as loving, doting grandmother and great grandmother answering to her new name "Gram Gram". She also became a shepherd to their flock of 150 sheep. Vicki was a woman of valor who will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Lena Willhite; her sister, Louise "Sissy" Arnold; brother, Ernest "Buddy" Willhite; and grandson, Christopher Cavnar. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Graybeal; her daughter Stephanie Cavnar and husband Bill of Alva, OK; her son, Ed Graybeal and wife Ellen of Smithville, TN; her sister, Norma Brock of Louisville, KY; her sister in love, Bobbye Byrnside of Shelbyville, KY; her granddaughter Jamie Goodwin and husband Kurtis of Cherokee, OK; her great grandchildren, Aubrey Marrero, Koen Goodwin and Kian Goodwin along with a host of nieces and nephews and extended family that was very near and dear to "Aunt Vicki".
