Wanda Gifford-Reid

Wanda Gifford-Reid, age 88 passed away March 25, 2022 at her residence in Noble, Ok. Wanda Jo Owens was born January 26, 1934, the youngest of 10 children, to Frank and Lucy Owens. She was raised in Noble and attended school there, graduating with the Bears Class of 1952. Wanda married Benton Gene Gifford and together they had 2 children, Benton II and Kassandra. She received her bachelor's degree from Butler University and her Master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. Wanda invested her life working in public education as both a teacher and a school counselor. She had a passion for education and it showed. She began her teaching career in Indiana, with a stop in Mississippi, before returning back home to Oklahoma. She was employed by Moore Public Schools for over 35 years. Later in life, she married R.V. Reid and they enjoyed many adventures together. Wanda could best be described as a "spitfire" due to her fierce independence. She really enjoyed traveling with her family and many friends. She loved antiques and shopping, although it would probably be more accurate to say she was a buyer, and not just a shopper. She had numerous talents and was a gifted musician. Wanda was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was one amazing lady and she will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by; her father and mother, Frank and Lucy Owens; husband, Benton Gene Gifford; husband, R.V. Reid; son, Benton Gene Gifford II, and her siblings Willie Mae Clark, Minnie Cavins, John Owens, James Owens, William Carl Owens, Naomi Chandler Unger, Gladys Blair, Estelle Davis, and Betty Webb. She is survived by; her daughter Kassie Guthrie and husband, Jimmy of Noble, Oklahoma, her precious grandchildren, Travis Guthrie, Tiffany Guthrie, Katelynn Gifford and Benton Gifford III; her great grandson, Harrison Reynosa and a host of family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, April 1st, at the First Baptist Church in Noble. Burial will follow at the Noble I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
