Wilma Tippit

Wilma Lou Tippit, 78, of Belton MO, formerly of Purcell, OK passed away October 20, 2015 in Belton. Wilma was born October 23, 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma. She was youngest of two children born to James Milton Beaver and Vestie Marie (Boydston) Beaver. Wilma grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School in 1953. While in high school she married William Kenneth Tippit on November 27, 1952 in Purcell. Together they raised six children. Ken made a career in the U.S. Air Force and the family lived in various states in the U.S. and England. Wilma worked as a homemaker and also worked outside of the home as a Finance Director for ITT Technical Institute in Kansas City, MO and Arlington, TX, retiring in June 2002. After Ken retired from the military they made their home in Bedford, Texas in 1982. She remained living there until 2005, at that time she moved to Belton, MO to be close to her daughters and family. Wilma was a faithful Christian and while living in Belton she was a member of Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church. Throughout her life, Wilma enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, playing cards and board games with grandchildren and she loved to bowl. She was a library volunteer and an avid reader. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by; Her parents, Marie and Milton Beaver; Husband, Ken Tippit on June 4, 2002; Son, Cliff Tippit on January 14, 2014; Son-in-law, Richard Brown on August 30, 2001; Brother, Carl Beaver; She is survived by: Four Daughters, Gail Whittaker and husband Darrell of Cornville Maine, Connie Bulat and husband John of Cibolo TX, Linda Sessions and husband Allan of Raymore MO, Karen Fletcher and husband Jeff of Belton MO; One Son, Duane Tippit and fiancé Adriana of Arlington TX: One Daughter-in-law, Lori Tippit of Rotan, TX; 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, Also a host of other relatives and friends. A Visitation was held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 13000 Bennington Ave. Grandview MO. Graveside services were 1:00 pm on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Hillside Cemetery, Purcell OK. Contributions are suggested to Catholic Charities or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
