Frances Lee Kerr

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Lee Kerr, beloved grandmother, mother, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 22, 2024, at the age of 83. Frances, known by most as Fran or Granny Fran was born on February, 24 1941, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late William and Marry Keaton. She spent her early years in Hamilton County, Ohio before moving to Oklahoma as a young child. In her young years she learned the values of hard work, kindness, and resilience. Frances’s warm heart and generous spirit was bright and continued to shine throughout her life. In 1974, Frances joined the United States Army Medical Corps going from active duty to reserve and serving until May22nd 1992. She worked alongside her husband Troyce Kerr at Triple K machine shop and a small farm while in and out of the army. Additionally, working for Pratt Whitney Airforce material support. Fran’s greatest joy came from caring for others, staying active, farming, and dancing with her husband, Troyce Kerr. It was a rare sight to see her sitting for long, whether working, gardening, tending animals or making sure you were fed. She had a special way of making everyday chores a wonderful memory. Her stories, drive, hilarious idioms, willingness to speak her mind, regardless of setting, and unwavering stubbornness will be deeply missed. You often found yourself taken along for a ride, in what was her life. In addition to her family, Frances was an active member of her local church community, including being one of the founding attendees to Choctaw Road Baptist Church. She volunteered at the local election boards, participated in numerous church activities, and was a passionate hard working independent woman. Frances is survived by her son Franklin Drennan (Stephanie); and step children: Trelynda (Kymmr), and Cheryl Kerr; her grandchildren: Nathan Drennan, Dylan Drennan, Curran Drennan, Keaton Drennan, Tory Kerr (Beth), Trever Kerr (Rian), Tyler Kerr (Julia); and her great-grandchildren: Theran Kerr, Haven Kerr, McKenzie Kerr, and Ruby Kerr; as well as her nephew, Dave Rawson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Troyce Kerr; her first husband: Larry Drennan; her parents; her sister: Julia Rawson; her brother: Robert Keaton, and her step son: Nick Kerr (Cheryl). A celebration of Frances’ life will be held at the Choctaw Road Baptist Church on July 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman, OK. Frances Lee Kerr lived a life filled with grace, love, and kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, reunited, dancing with her beloved husband, and may her legacy of drive and willpower continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
