Arthur Edmond Rollings

Arthur Edmond Rollings, age 74 of Noble passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1938 in Blanchard, OK. He was the oldest child of five children born to John Thomas Rollings and Eunice Victoria (Mayo) Rollings. Arthur grew up in the Johnsonville community North of Byars, OK and attended Asher schools. On December 26, 1961 he married Dolores Wilkins and together they raised four children while living in the Lexington community. While his children were growing up, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country several years. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Oklahoma, and began working as an Electrician. He worked for Fipps-Musgrave Electric for many years before starting his own business called "Rollings Electric". In 1974 he started working for the University of Oklahoma in the Physical Plant. After 23 years he retired in 1997 as the Electrical Supervisor at the Plant. Arthur married Marilyn June Nelson Welter on March 20, 1981. They made their home in the Noble area most of their life and remained happily married for the past 32 years. Arthur was a member of the Noble-Hampton Masonic Lodge #291 and the Lexington American Legion Post #301. He loved working on and restoring old cars and was proud of his 1939 chev and 1952 chev sedan. After retiring he and Marilyn enjoyed camping with friends at Ft. Cobb Lake and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, OK.
