Barbara Ann Littlejohn

Barbara Ann Littlejohn age 70 of Newcastle, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 2, 2014 following a battle with brain cancer . She was born April 8, 1943 in Savanna, OK, the middle child of five children born to Ray Vinson Branson and Ruth Marie (Oliphant) Branson. Barbara grew up a country girl living and going to school in Savanna, OK. At age 16 she married the love of her life, Johnny Edward Littlejohn, a young man from Redden, OK. They were married on August 31, 1959 in Pittsburg, OK. Together they raised three children, Eddy, Larry and Brenda. Barbara and Johnny lived in the OKC area, Del City and Moore for 13 years before moving to Newcastle in 1972. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker, wife and mother to provide for her family. She also worked outside the home for many years at various jobs including as a Teacher Assistant and Bus Driver for the Special Education Students at Newcastle Schools. Barbara was a faithful Christian and church member. For many years she attended Southgate Baptist Church in Moore, before she and Johnny became a charter member at Calvary Baptist Church in Newcastle. For the past 20 years she has been a member at Newcastle First Baptist Church. For many years she enjoyed teaching GMA's and singing in the church choir. Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking for her family, working in her flower gardens and camping at Fort Cobb and at Lake Eufaula. In her later years she loved caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by: Parents: Ray and Ruth Branson, One sister: JoAnn Branson, She is survived by: Husband: Johnny Littlejohn of the home, Two sons: Eddy Littlejohn and wife Annette of Tuttle, Larry Littlejohn of Moore, One daughter: Brenda Wilson and husband David of Longview, TX, Two sisters: Sandra Smith and husband Deaton of Moore, OK, Carolyn Hollaway and husband Jerry of McAlester, OK, One brother: Buddy Branson and wife Starr of McAlester, OK, Six grandchildren: Michael Littlejohn and wife Diane, Thomas Littlejohn and wife Jessica, Brittany Wilson, Danielle Wilson, Catherine Littlejohn and Caitlin Littlejohn. Two great grandchildren: Charlie Littlejohn and Audrey Littlejohn, Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle, OK. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. at Redden Cemetery in Redden, OK. Memorials may be made to the Newcastle FBC Benevolence Fund. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle, OK.
