Cheryl Ann Browning

Cheryl Browning, age 81, of Blanchard entered into Heaven’s gates on August 19, 2024. Cheryl Ann Wilson was born on April 11, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Robert Douglas Wilson and Dorothy Jeanne Wilson (Little). She was raised in Iowa where she attended school and graduated with the Warrior Class of 1961. On December 28, 1964 Cheryl eloped with the man of her dreams and love of her life, DeWayne Wilburn Browning. The couple weathered many storms together, but they always came out stronger. Their love was genuine and incomparable to anything else! Cheryl was driven and dedicated to working hard every single day. She worked in Supply Chain and Payroll for over 40 years. Cheryl worked for companies such as ADM Corn Sweeteners, and Kerr-McGee, which eventually sold and split into multiple companies. She later worked for SemGroup, which is where she eventually retired from in 2016. Cheryl’s work ethic was an inspiration to many. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, going to antique shops, and being involved in her church communities and activities. Cheryl was a woman of great faith, and she professed it proudly! Cheryl and DeWayne attended and served many churches in multiple capacities including, Antioch Christian Church, Newcastle Community Church, Snowhill Baptist Church, and later Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Cheryl was empathetic, nurturing, selfless, loving, and opinionated. She truly was a one-of-a-kind woman who will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved her! Cheryl was preceded in death by: her loving husband, DeWayne Browning; daughter, Dorothy Ellen Browning; parents, Robert and Dorothy Wilson, and brother, James Douglas Wilson. Cheryl is survived by: her sons, Charles Browning of Blanchard and Sam Browning of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Samuel Browning and wife Laura of Oklahoma City and Dustin Browning and wife Rebecca of Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Layla and Eli Browning; brothers, Roger Gregory Wilson and wife Karen of Iowa and David Eldon Wilson and wife Margy of Iowa; sister-in-law, Susie Wilson of Iowa as well as a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 24, 2024 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church. www.wilsonlittle.com
