Kent Wells

Kent Wells, age 65 of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Robert Kent Wells was born November 27, 1956 in Purcell, Oklahoma, the older of two children born to Robert Glen Wells and Barbara June (Howerton) Kelley. He was raised in Lexington and attended school there graduating with the Bulldog Class of 1975. Right out of school, Kent joined the family business, alongside his mother and step father Kenneth Kelley, and his sister Lisa. He started with the basics, and worked his way up throughout his career. For more than 40 years, Kent worked in this industry, and he worked the majority of that time for Fowler Toyota, before retiring in 2014. Kent was a lifelong Lexington resident and raised his family there. He married young, to Carla Edgmon, and to this union two children, son Kyle and daughter Callie were born. Away from work, Kent enjoyed sports. He played golf and cheered hard for the OU Sooners. He stayed active coaching both his kids in little league, as he was their biggest fans. His love of sports only strengthened when he became a PaPa to Drake, Kyleigh, Journey and Cambri, and he greatly enjoyed chasing them from activity to activity. Kent cherished family time, and whether it was playing cards, or weekend trips to Lake Texoma, he looked forward to it. He was a wonderful son, father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed! He was preceded in death by: his father, Glen Wells; step father Kenneth Kelley and sisters, Lisa Hadley and Lawanna Lopez. Kent is survived by: his mother, Barbara June Kelley of Lexington; son Kyle Wells and wife Kalle of Lexington; daughter Callie Henry and husband Brandon of Pauls Valley; sisters, Marie Drivere of Norman and Tonja Veatch of Palisade, CO; his grandchildren, Drake, Kyleigh, Journey and Cambri and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday from 1pm-5pm at Wilson-Little. Family will be available to greet relatives and friends from 2pm-3pm. Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M.
