Lillian Kathleen Ross

Lillian Kathleen (Johnson) Ross, 89, of Newcastle, OK, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on July 16, 2012. She was born October 10, 1922 in Whitesboro, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mack Johnson and Mae (Keith) Johnson. After graduating from Washington High School in 1940, she met the love of her life, Jack Ross, who was home on leave from the Navy. They were married June 20, 1945 in Purcell. They lived numerous places while Jack was in the Navy before settling in Oklahoma City in 1948. In 1972, they moved to Newcastle, OK where they lived until 2006. They shared 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. She was a born again Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Newcastle where she participated in the adult and hand bell choirs. She was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved music. She was exceptional at working crossword puzzles, sewing, gardening and cooking. Kathleen was a wonderful mother and loved her family dearly always making sure they were taken care of. She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Mack and Mae Johnson Husband, Jack Ross Grandson, Eric Vancleave Three sisters, Eva Lou Underwood, Reba McPherson, Maxine Moore Two brothers, Clyde Johnson and Gene Johnson Kathleen leaves behind: Her daughter, Linda Denney, Newcastle Daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Vancleave, Oklahoma City Grandchildren, Randy Anderson and wife Christy of Edmond Michael Anderson of Newcastle Russell Anderson of Newcastle Megan Denney of Norman Meredith Denney of Oklahoma City Scott Martin and wife Brandi of Norman 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Newcastle with Brother Jeremy Freeman officiating. Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are her son-in-law, Jerry Vancleave and her nephews, Ross Miller, Russell Coffee, Michael Coffee, Cliff Ross, Keith Finch, Tommy Underwood, Billy Underwood and Rick McPherson. Family will greet friends Wednesday, July 18th between 6-8 pm at Wilson-Little Funeral Home, 3132 Tri-City Ave, Newcastle, OK.
