Nick Gray

Nicholas Gray, age 46, of Purcell passed away on March 20, 2026. Nick was born on January 1, 1980 in Pauls Valley, the 2nd of 3 boys born to Eddie and Debbie Gray. He grew up in Wayne and attended school there. Nick married his lifelong friend, Sarah (Samarin) Gray on March 18, 2013. The couple had been hanging out as friends since the 7th grade but fate allowed them to reunite later in life. The couple was happily married for 13 years before his passing. Nick worked in EMS, as a paramedic for the past 24 years. He lived in the US Virgin Islands for 3 years helping with Covid Vaccines, he worked with Wadley’s EMS for several years and was even able to teach classes for the EMS by using his own curriculum. His final employment was with United Medical Response in southern Illinois. This job created an outstanding opportunity for him and his family. This was the most impactful place he ever worked. The UMR family showed great support and love during the past couple of years of his life. He loved his job and gave so much of himself to help others. Even in death, Nick gave life. Nick was an organ and tissue donor and this was one of his last heroic services of giving to others. When Nick wasn’t working, his favorite hobbies were fishing, snorkeling, and going to the gym to workout. He had a quiet nature about him but when you really got to know him, you got to experience his fantastic sense of humor. Nick had the most mischievous onery smile and beautiful eyes. He enjoyed traveling to Jamacia for the couple’s honeymoon and living in the Virgin Islands. He treasured listening to metal music and even had a band named “Death Bucket” that allowed him to spend time playing music with his friends, LeGace, Kane, Bussaco and little Chris. Nick was loved by many and will be missed so very much! Nick is preceded in death by his dad, Eddie Gray. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Gray of the home; his mother, Debbie Gray of Lexington; his children, Daemon Gray and wife Alexis of Lexington, Malachi Gray of Lexington, Ezrah Gray of Lexington, William Rutledge of Cheyenne, WY, Kadence Goodridge and husband Dayton of Byars, Brenya Rutledge of Norman, and Cordealia Rutledge of Denver; his brothers, Justin Gray and wife Heather of Moore and Jeremy Gray of Lexington; his grandchildren, Auzlyn Gray and Adilynn Goodridge; along with a host of friends. Funeral Services for Nick will be Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Wilson-Little Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
