Patty Howry Cochrane

Patty Howry Cochrane passed away on Monday March, 22, 2021, after a long battle with lymphoma. Patty was born in Thermopolis, Wyoming, the middle child of Amon and Mary Davis. She spent the first eight years moving from Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana following her father's work in the exploration for oil. When she was nine the family moved to the Canary Island while her father worked in the Spanish Sahara Desert. They stayed there for three years and then came back to Texas as her father continued to pursue his career. When she was thirteen the family moved to Bossier City, Louisiana until her father retired in 1968 and moved the family to a farm east of Lexington, Oklahoma. She graduated from Lexington high school and then attended the Draughon School of Business in Oklahoma City, later finishing her education at the University of Oklahoma. From the time she was a child, she had a love of numbers and papers. Throughout her adult life she worked in the fields of banking and finance, private and public accounting, and ran a successful accounting business, focusing on a select group of clients, until her death. When grandchildren came along, she moved her business from Norman, OK to her home in Lexington where she continued to work until her death. In 2011 she became a member of Daughters of the Revolution and served as their state treasurer from 2012 through 2020. She considered that treasury work a great joy in her life- one that required all the skills she had mastered over her career. At the time of her death, she was a lifetime member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amon and Mary Davis, and two brothers-in law, Dannie Merrell and Johnny Sims. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband Leslie Cochran of the home, one son Lee McDonald and wife Lisa, two grandchildren Kolton McDonald (Amy Hess) and Konnor McDonald Alvisio (Jared), two great grandchildren, Macie and McCrae, all of Lexington. Two sisters, Susan Merrell, of Lexington and Sally Sims of Maysville and one brother Clay Johnsons (Kristie) of Lexington. Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Friday March 26, 2021, Little's Chapel, Purcell, OK. Private burial at Lexington Cemetery at a later date.
