Sonja Lynn Boston

Sonja Lynn Riggs Boston, 49, of Macomb passed away after a long battle with lung disease on Saturday, November 22nd in Shawnee, OK. She was born Nov. 14, 1965, in Dallas, TX; the daughter of Richard Terry and Judith Ann (Sweeney) Riggs. Sonja graduated from Macomb High School in 1984 and attended Cameron University in Lawton, OK. She earned her Associate in Arts degree from Seminole State College in 2013 and graduated with the following honors; Phi Theta Kappa, Psi Beta, and Sigma Kappa Delta. She was a member of the Seminole State College Student Government Association and served as the Alpha Theta Nu Secretary. Sonja married Carl Glenn Boston Sr. on Oct. 16, 1987 at the Old Post Chapel at Ft. Sill, near Lawton. The couple moved from Lawton to Fountain, CO where Carl continued to serve in the US Army. They later moved to Humnoke, AR before settling in Macomb, OK with their four children. Sonja was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, niece, cousin, and friend who spent many years supporting the local FFA and Athletic Booster Club. Sonja was preceded in death by her father Richard Terry Riggs and husband Carl Glenn Boston Sr. both of Macomb; her paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Margaret Riggs, and maternal grandparents, Claude and Ethel Lewis and Carl Sweeney. Survivors include her mother, Judi Riggs of Macomb; three sons; Carl Glenn Boston Jr. (CJ), Joshua Boston, and Jared (Reagan) Boston and one daughter, Kaitlyn (Boston) Bishop and husband Nicholas; brother, Rick and wife LeGay Riggs of Wanette; sister Laurie and husband Danny Bacon of Hubbard, OR.; mother-in-law Ernestine Boston, sister-in-law, Carol Rockwell of Humnoke, AR, and brother in-law Thomas E. Boston and wife Cheryl of Stuttgart, AR. Sonja had many nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends including Joe, Darlene and Mackenzie Brummett, Tisha and Layken Carr, Riley and Cody Sipes, Morgan and Dakota Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to the team at Solara Hospital, for the wonderful care they provided Sonja in her final days. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th at Lakeside Church of God 4400 E. Alameda St, Norman, OK with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will be at Tribbey Cemetery in Tribbey, OK.
