Tommy Norman Hoggard

Tommy "Bud" Hoggard, age 84, of Lexington passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024. Tommy Norman Hoggard was born on March 12, 1940 in Healdton, Oklahoma, the 2nd of 12 children born to Tom Norman Hoggard and Geneva Pearl (Russell) Hoggard. He was primarily raised in Fox, Oklahoma where he attended school and graduated with the Fox Class of 1957. A couple years later, in 1959, Tommy married Janice Patricia "Pat" Stephens and from this union two beautiful children were born, Tammy and Becky. The Hoggard family moved around and lived in various places due to Bud's line of work. He started out as a labor foreman and eventually worked his way up to assistant superintendent, working for both Harmon Construction and Flintco Construction companies. Although Tommy retired in 2002, he never truly quit working. In his retirement he also worked for Allen Farms in Goldsby. His drive and determination were a testament to not only his work ethic, but his character as well. His first love, Pat, passed away after a long battle with cancer in 1993. Some odd years later, Tommy was introduced to the next love of his life named, Sharron Gail Garrett. She was a secretary on job sites he was working on, and the two hit it off instantly. Tommy and Sharron were married on January 15, 2000 and together they shared 24 years of marriage. Bud welcomed both Sharron and his bonus children into his loving family! Tommy and Sharron enjoyed gardening, camping, and traveling together. He loved to use his metal detector aka money hunting! Tommy truly was a simple man with a kind heart. He was extremely outgoing, super friendly, and he never met a stranger. He was always willing to help anyone out and did so with a smile! More than anything, Tommy was a family man. He loved spending time with his family and he truly cherished every moment with them. Tommy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, Pops, Bud, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a true friend. He will be dearly missed! He was proceeded in death by: his parents, Tom and Geneva Hoggard; his first wife, Pat Hoggard; daughter, Tammy George; grandson, Brian George; and sister, Sue Ruth. Tommy is survived by: his wife, Sharron Hoggard of the home; daughter, Becky Cocklin and husband Rusty of Edmond; bonus children, Micheal Foli of Czech Republic, Kerrie Blood of Norman, and Lisa Andrews and husband Kevin of Purcell; son-in-law, Scott George of Choctaw; brothers, Sam Hoggard and wife Linda of Fox, Mike Hoggard of Loco, Dan Hoggard of Fox, Mark Hoggard and wife Diane of Fox, Jim Hoggard and wife LaDonna of Ratliff City; sisters, Barbara Wallace of Connersville, Gail Jenick, Norma Lemmon and husband Bob of Moore, Judy Gayanich and husband David of Springer, Peggy Holt and husband John of Moore; 14 grandchildren, Timmy, Amber, Jennifer, Robyn, Morgan, Kaleb, Kylie, Jacob, Aspen, Emma, Hudson, Evan, Grady, Annika; 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Graveside Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. www.wilsonlittle.com
