Wayne Keeler

Wayne Keeler, age 82, of Wayne passed away on February9, 2024. Wayne Austin Keeler was born December 11,1941. He was 7 th child out of 12 born to John Albert Keelerand Beatrice Sewell (Jones) Keeler. Wayne moved to theLexington area and met the love of his life Wanda JeanBerglan at The Dairy Boy. They began dating, fell in loveand married June 13, 1964. The couple raised 2 amazingsons and spent 59 years happily married. Wayne joinedthe Air Force at a young age and was honored to serve hiscountry. He worked 30 years at Tinker Air Force Base as aAir Frame and Equipment Specialist, before retiring tofarm and do custom hay baling. When Wayne wasn't working, he loved to hunt, fish, and spend time at the lake.He just enjoyed being outside, whether that was farming, baling hay or workingcattle. He loved to golf and his favorite hobby was following his grandchildrenaround to all their activities. He cherished time spent with his sons hunting andfishing. He was active in the community and served on the District 8 Rural WaterBoard, the American Farmers and Ranchers Insurance Board, Wayne Rural FireDepartment Board and was a 53 year Mason.He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice Keeler; his sisters, JoyLynn, June Reis, Johnnie Faye May, and Mattie Bush; his brother, Marvin Keeler;his brothers-in-laws, Jim Lynn, Bob May, Lloyd Bush, and Leon Vaughn.Wayne is survived by his lovely wife, Wanda of the home; his sons, Bartley Keelerand wife Kathy of Goldsby; and Brian Keeler and wife Jennifer of Wayne; hisbrothers, Bruce Keeler and wife Elaine of Burneyville, Keith Keeler of Anderson,Tx., and Johnny Keeler and wife Marla of Tuttle; his sisters, Mary Vaughn of Perry,Elaine Harris of Norman, and Jean Corley and husband Rick of Moore; his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Keeler of Purcell and his grandchildren that he cherished, HarrisonKeeler, Hayden Keeler, Kaylee Keeler, Addison Keeler, and a host of nieces,nephews and friends.Wayne was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Purcell. Interment will follow at Lexington Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
