Yvonne Renee Chambers

Yvonne Chambers, age 60 of Purcell, passed away on August 17, 2026. Yvonne Renee Hayden was born on December 9, 1965 in New Albany, Indiana to Larry Keith Hayden and Marlene Elizabeth Hayden (Lone). She grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana, attended school there, and graduated with the Red Devil class of 1984. She then began attending classes at Indiana University in Bloomington then received a bachelors in Nursing from Indiana University Southeast. On Halloween of 1987, Yvonne met a young military man named Bryan Chambers at the Phoenix Hill Tavern. They fell in love and were married on August 11, 1990. They shared 36 years of marriage and had three beautiful daughters. In May of 1990, they moved to Moore, Oklahoma which they called home for a time before returning to Indiana, where a travel nursing job turned into a fourteen year stay for her family. In 2008, they made their way back to Oklahoma and have called it home ever since. Yvonne spent most of her career in nursing; while working in Oklahoma she worked at OU Children’s ER and telephone triage. Throughout her time in nursing she continued her education, earning her masters, and was currently working on her PhD. In 2019 Yvonne brought her passion for education to the classroom as she began teaching nursing at Oklahoma City Community College. Yvonne was truly a lifelong learner who enjoyed both gaining knowledge for herself, and imparting knowledge in others. Away from work, Yvonne was a devoted wife, mother, and Nonny who spoiled her family every chance she got. She loved taking trips with loved ones, spending time in the kitchen baking, tending to her garden, and making art with her grandkids. Yvonne always enjoyed a good book, and never missed a chance to express her love to those around her. Yvonne was preceded in death by her father Larry Hayden, her grandpa and grandma Hayden, grandma and grandpa Lone, her nephew Tyler Pitzer, and dog Pawli. She is survived by her mother Marlene Hayden of Jeffersonville, IN. Her husband Bryan Chambers of Purcell. Her children Kayla Huff and husband Josh of Purcell, Bailey Jackson and husband Jordan of Miami, FL, and Carly Jenne and husband Derek of Purcell. Her siblings Barry Hayden and wife Kathy of Lanesville, IN, Valerie Pitzer and husband Lance of Jeffersonville, IN, and Krista Hayden and husband Tommy of New Albany, IN. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Justus Fulbright, Cash Huff, Knox Huff, Everly Jenne, Ozzy Jenne, her nieces and nephews, and her cat Pawket. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am Friday August 21, 2026 at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little Purcell with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 5-7pm Thursday August 20, 2026 at Wilson-Little Purcell.
